In Communication we focus on three main areas:

  • Structuring
  • Writing
  • Presentation

In Structuring, we look at

  • the five Ws – what, why, who, where, when
  • top-down vs bottom up communication
  • deciding on a writing style based on the format

In Writing, we look at

  • storytelling – looking at aspects such as how to engage the audience, how to introduce humor / drama / action
  • we touch upon fiction vs non fiction writing, and how each one presents different opportunities
  • we also look at different ways to write including illustrative – comics / doodles, short articles, essays and so on

In Presentation, we look at

  • public speaking including presenting to peers, such as explaining concepts that have been learned in other areas of our curriculum
  • producing and editing videos – including planning out the scenes, budgets, actors, technicals etc
  • making video blogs and how to integrate all the learnings to make your own videos

Communication 1 will focus more on Structuring and Writing. Communication 2 will have a mix of Writing and Presentations. 


  • Session is from 2-330pm
  • Sessions run 5 days a week, M-F, for the weeks mentioned
